Short version: we find you a licensed, verified pro and book them at a price you see before you commit. They do the work and you pay them directly. We charge you nothing.
Knovo is a booking service. We check licenses against the state registry, rank pros on verified outcomes, and put a job on their calendar. We are not a contractor and we do not perform the work — the pro you book is an independent business, responsible for their own work, their own license, their own insurance, and their own conduct in your home.
The price shown is the pro’s own published flat rate for that job, and it’s shown before you book. If the job turns out to be bigger than that rate covers, the pro must quote it and get your approval before starting the extra work. If someone quotes you a different number on the doorstep with no explanation, tell us.
You pay the pro directly, by whatever means they accept. Knovo never takes your money, never holds it, and never adds a fee to your bill. We are paid by the pro, and only when a booked job actually happens — never for showing you to someone, and never for rank.
You can cancel any time before the visit, free, from the app or your booking link. If your pro cancels on you, we’ll tell you as soon as we know.
After a visit we ask one question. Answering is optional, it feeds the pro’s trust score, and no pro is ever told who said what. Please be truthful — the whole product rests on that record being real.
We check licenses and track outcomes, but we can’t guarantee the quality of anyone else’s work. Disputes about the work itself are between you and the pro — though if something goes wrong, tap “something went wrong” and a person here will look at it. To the extent the law allows, Knovo’s liability is limited to the fees we received in connection with the booking, which for a homeowner is zero.
Knovo is not an emergency service. If you smell gas, see sparking, or have active flooding or a CO alarm, leave and call 911 or your utility. We will tell you the same thing.
Don’t book jobs you don’t intend to keep, don’t use someone else’s phone number, and don’t use Knovo to send anyone to an address that isn’t yours to admit them to. We can close an account that does.
The nine Bay Area counties, for now. If you’re outside that, we’ll say so rather than send you someone we haven’t checked.
If these change we update this page and the date above. California law governs.
